Frequently asked questions
Everything about publishing, dropcoins and the platform.
Getting started
What is Pageflip?
+
Pageflip turns any PDF into an interactive flipbook, publishes it on a platform where readers discover it, and shows you how they engage — page by page.
What can I upload?
+
Any PDF — including print-ready files. Double-page spreads are detected and split automatically (SpreadSplit), and heavy files are compressed without visible quality loss (PDF Bonsai).
Is there a page limit?
+
No practical one. Our Orizuru engine handles 500-page catalogs that load in a blink, on any device.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
+
Publishing is free. Free publications carry ads and Pageflip branding — that's the whole deal. Premium is optional, per publication.
What are dropcoins?
+
Dropcoins (dc) are Pageflip's in-platform currency — 1 dc = €0.10. You spend them to switch on Premium or DataHub analytics per publication, so you only pay for what needs it.
What happens when my premium expires?
+
Your publication simply returns to the free tier — it stays published with ads and branding. Your content never gets taken down.
Features
Do the links in my PDF work?
+
Yes — LinkRadar automatically detects every URL, email address and QR code and live-links them in the viewer. You can also draw your own hotspots on top.
Can I embed a flipbook on my own website?
+
Yes. Every publication has an embed code (responsive iframe). A WordPress plugin and Chrome extension are available too.
What analytics do I get?
+
DataHub tracks real reading behaviour: page-by-page engagement, heatmaps, hotspot click-through and session replay — far beyond simple view counts.
Does Pageflip support right-to-left reading?
+
Yes — Arabic, Hebrew and other RTL publications flip in the correct direction, natively in the engine.
Content
Can readers download or print my PDF?
+
Only if you allow it — downloading and printing are toggles you control per publication.
Can I keep a publication off the public platform?
+
Yes. Set it to Unlisted (only people with the link) — or, on Premium, hide it from the platform entirely while keeping the clean viewer.
